Cracking the X algo week 1

Hello Hello Hivians and Threaders and Xters!

Yesterday this invoice was automatically paid. It is for £8 plus VAT of £1.60 hence it is for £9.60 for one month's service.

You would have perhaps guessed by the title that is about X (formerly Twitter), and that is how much the Blue or premium service costs if you are based in the UK.

This is the second month that I have paid. I started getting into it, but with ALL things online at the moment I lost my motivation. Nobody pushing me guess.

So after a comment from @anomadsoul yesterday I decided to chart my progress and goals and share any tips on how to grow our X accounts

My aims for X are twofold:

1 Become monetized
2 Spread the Hive word and onboard users

To become monetized I will set myself numerical targets, that does seem to motivate.

Today then will be my starting point.
Before we talk about some do's and don'ts it's time to review my starting stats.

To become monetized you need to do these 3 things:

✔️ Subscribe to Premium or Verified Organizations

❌ Have at least 5M impressions on your posts within the last 3 months

✔️ 500 followers

I have the easy bits sorted lol!

Let's have a look at my impressions...

Note it says 5M impressions on your posts within the last 3 months

My last three months' chart for impressions....

So I have 1.5 million impressions for the last three months. Oh fluff me, I am well short lol

But if you look closely there is only activity in the last month

So let's take the last thirty days!

I fibbed, the last 28 days, there is last 28 days button in the drop down menu so life is easy when you don't too much hahaha

So we can see that actually we had 1.5 million impressions in the last 28 days and had a daily impression value of 54.6 thousand which is more or less the 55k daily average needed for three months.

You can see up until about a week ago I was doing really well but yeah just lost motivation for being online.

However, I am determined to persevere.

Between now and next Thursday I shall figure out some metrics to monitor.

Initially of course the one I want is impressions!

The X algorithm is a fickle beast! And info on how not to fall foul of the don'ts is welcome!

One very useful site that anybody who uses X should be aware of and use is a shadow ban testing site, you can access one here ...

Just make sure you are signed out of your X account when you run the test.

This then is the result of my test...

✔️ My account does exist! Good to know!!!

Also there is :

✔️ NO Search Ban
✔️ NO Search Suggestion Ban
✔️ NO Ghost Ban
✔️ NO reply deboosting

However it seems my reach is not that good, and even when I comment on some posts, my replies are getting buried!

Not good for impression farming!

That was 44,436 impressions on a comment I made!

I can do it, I just need to find the groove again I guess.

@anomadsoul is making great inroads in to X with being a Spaces guest and I believe we are all making the Hive presence more known than ever before.

He is also growing his X account which is cool!

Another superstar that I see posting all over my X feed and also always speaking in Spaces is @deraaa!

I shall endeavour to duplicate their behaviour!

In the meantime I shall be aiming to follow some X strategies we have devised ....
