Pixel City 1982
Pixel City 11.03 am
"Nooooooo" shrieked an exasperated young brunette haired humanoid looking lady.
"What's wrong Jenna?" asked another concerned sounding young brunette haired humanoid looking lady.
"Shhh" said Jenna as she very carefully pressed the open button on the cassette player.
"Oh fluff Jenny, pass me a pencil please!" whispered Jenna to Jenny.
Both of them knew the drill, unfortunately it often happens when you play a C90, the longer playing cassette although this one was a C60. The numbers are equivalent to number of minutes the cassette can play.
With her slender fingers Jenna deftly pulled out the cassette from the cassette player and both girls whistled in relief.
"Here's the pencil Jenna, that should be an easy one to fix!"
"Yeah too right Jenny" and Jenna started to untangle the magnetic tape of the cassette that had become tangle whilst playing in the player.
"Can I play another cassette while you fix that one?"
"Go for it, I got that new single on cassette and I am pretty sure it is the first ever single that was released on a cassette and not a vinyl record as I never saw one before. The girl singer is really cool, do you know she is only 15!?"
Jenny opened the plastic cover and placed a cassette into the cassette player and pushed the volume all the way up to maximum.
Both girls jumped up and starting singing and pogoing along to Annabella Lwin from Bow Wow Wow singing C30 C60 C90 Go!
"She is pure dead brilliant!" exclaimed Jenny.
"A bligger a blogger a blippity-blop" sang Jenna along to the song.
Jenny turned round and shook her head "no silly, it's A bligger a blagger a blippity-blop"
Jenna meanwhile stuck out her tongue at Jenny whilst shaking her head!
"Silly I said blogger on purpose. Remember those Earthlings we met yesterday said they are bloggers and blog about the videogames they play on that Hive thing."
"Oh yes, I forgot about them. Oh wait, what time are we meeting them today?"
"4.20pm do you think they will be shocked with our little prank?"
"Hehe I don't know, I don't think the couple that we are meeting have met Pixelians before, but I hope they show us how to stop ruining our music cassettes Jennifer!"
"Well let's get some lunch before we meet them."
"Two seconds I am almost done." Jenna had the pencil in one on the holed in the cassette and was winding the magnetic tape until it was not longer loose and out of the cassette!
"Let's fluffing go" the girls said in unison as the exited the apartment.
Pixel City 4.19 pm
There was a tap tap tap and the door and Jenna leapt up in double quick time.
"I'll get the door Jenny!" she cried.
In a flash she had opened the door and was standing in front of two male humanoid figures.
"H e l l o. W e a r e B i l l a n d B e n f r o m t h e O r g a n i s a t i o n." Said the taller of the two figures.
"Pleased to meet you, I'm Jenna and Jenny is inside, so come on in and shut the door behind."
By the time the smaller male humanoid figure had closed the door, Jenna was sitting on the couch.
"Come sit here, yes we don't bite!" whispered the girls in unison.
The two Earthlings seemed to take an age to cross the room and sit down.
"Ah yes we were told before we left Earth that your time on Pixel is twice as fast as ours, so if we sound slow we are sorry, but trust me you sound you like talk really fast!"
"Shall we get down to business and decide what everyone should be doing?" asked Bill.
"Wait!" the girls said and Jenny jumped up and pushed play on the Cassette Player.
The sultry tones of Annie Lennox from The Eurythmics could be heard singing the song Jennifer.
Exactly one minute into the song both girls started to float upwards, each holding part of a purple dress.
Bill and Ben meanwhile were staring at the floating spectacle with their mouths wide open in shock.
For two minutes the girls floated in unison but then with a flash they seemed to fuse together ever so slowly.
With a gentle bump an orange haired green eyed female humanoid figure in a purple dress sat facing the two Earthlings.
"What the actual fluff?" muttered Bill to nobody in particular.
"Hi again Bill and Ben, I am Jennifer now." came the response from the Pixelian.
"You mentioned getting down to business, so we Pixelians fuse ourselves when it comes to dealing with Earthlings, after all two heads are better than one." laughed Jennifer.
"Right!" said Ben. "That's why you are speaking slower and moving slower?"
"Yes our devs told us this way we can be on your wavelength and it will be easier for you to keep up with us."
"But, but ... but who are you Jenna or Jenny?" Exclaimed Bill, who by this time was no longer a ghostly white colour.
"We are both, we are one, we are Jennifer."
With that Jennifer stood up and put a new cassette in the cassette player.
"We have been reviewing the games you Earthlings make. Pacman ... really ? I mean that is something a two year old could develop in their sleep, no wonder you want the help of us Pixelians!"
"Where shall we begin Bill and Ben?"

I loved reading about Jenna and Jenny, the Pixelians, and their encounter with the two Earthlings, Bill and Ben. I really loved how you portrayed Pixel City as a place where time is twice as fast as on Earth....I mean that is the exact thing we are trying to do with technology as humans. SPEED!!! and you captured this in your story.
In all sincerity, it sounds like they had a day full of laughter and unexpected twists, just like a good story should be. Well done on this one, partner.
