Staying active no matter the fluffing weather

Hello Hello Hivians

The one thing we need to try and do as we age is to keep active. Of course the older we get, the less strenuous the activity often becomes.

This is why walking is so important to me.

In the summer and warmer weather, I am often clambering over rocks at the seaside, but in the cooler weather we still have to get out and about.

So when @mypathtofire posted this week's #edtopic Ecency Discord Weekly Posting Topic: WALKING I thought well that is a great excuse to go for a fresh walk to post about!

Nature thought otherwise ...

On Monday I needed to go to the next town over to get some medication, and I thought no problem I might get the bus there and maybe walk back, or have a bit to eat and a walk on the coast.

Well fluff me, if the heavens didn't open.

I still needed to go....

This then is what I was confronted with ...

Yeah flooding, and no bus going through that I thought!

You can see that water was bubbling up through the manhole cover.

I went back home for a cup of tea and to change my shoes as they were soaked!

I came back a couple of hours later once the rain had stopped.

What a difference a couple of hours makes. Anyway you remember the manhole?

Have a look at it now!

It was as if it was laughing at me ... What fluffing rain!

That was me at the bus stop taking the picture where all the water was a couple of hours ago.

Ah awesome, there is the bus now.

Wait a fluffing minute. The driver saw me, and then turned down a road to avoid the junction!

What an arse!

I ran to the next stop (uphill by the way) but saw the bus pulling away!

Pissed off I was, as that meant a 30 minute wait until the next one!

Had it been the summer, I would have just walked the four miles or so, but no this is rain country at the moment!

At the next stop and waiting for the bus.

I did see a flying seagull!

Then the bus approached and it was a single decker, better not be busy!

The bus was not full, so I got a seat easy enough and enjoyed the fifteen minute journey to Burntisland.

Rain, floods, road closures there was never a dull moment!

Got my pills, time for a wee bit of shopping!

I never miss the chance to pop into the butchers.

I had a wee walk up the High St.

The Hardware shop has been Under New Management for a couple of years already. Great shop though, you can loads of things there.

Then past the vet.

Who knows what Alba means?

Past the old church that is now Sheltered Housing.

I used to live just behind there.

But this point I was soaking wet again.

So time to go home.

Believe it or not, that food stall does the most amazing burgers, they use products from the local butcher, and have won national awards.

No food for me, just wait for the bus then eat when home!

Funny how I didn’t consider walking as an exercise until recently.

Oh my goodness, Super Ed! So much rain! I hope you don't relapse the flu from getting your shoes soaked.
Not a boring ride at all but a little too wet for my taste this time;)
