My Shadow Hunters/SMASh Entry and a Lemon

generated with ideogram.ai

Yes I know it's not Halloween quite yet, but somehow I couldn't fit a leprechaun into the Shadow Hunters competition. Funny thing about the spelling, it kept wanting to double the H and the W. AI at it's very finest... But it did create a spooky looking picture which was the goal!

My Shadow Entry!

About a month or so ago I participated in the Shadow Hunters for the first time. It was a lot of fun and I even won a prize! So I decided to give it a go again today to see if I can get lucky! Over the last couple weeks I have been looking around for any interesting shadows that I might come across and snapping a picture. So I searched through my phone's pictures and picked out a couple good ones to share with everyone today.

First up is one that happened on the side yard just outside my side door in the late afternoon. Have a look at the ghostly shadow! This one is my entry.

The Reveal

Any guesses what caused this interesting shadow? Have a look!

Just a couple pots I had emptied out to plant something new in them. It wasn't intentional just to get the shadow, it was simply easier to stack the pots to keep the patio space clear.

Another Fun Bonus Shadow

Next I found another interesting shadow on an old sofa that's stuffed into a back room. The shadow was kind of cool so I took a picture. Have a look!

Yes I know that old sofa is ugly... That's why it's in the backroom where no one ever goes. What do you think of the shadow? I though it was pretty cool. It's caused by a lemon tree just outside the window.

The Lemon

Here's the lemon I promised in the title, it comes from the before mentioned tree. As a matter of fact I just picked it off the tree this morning. It's close to ripe, but I find if I pick them a little green they ripen faster in the kitchen than on the tree.

No shadow there but the tree grows some good lemons! I'm fortunate to live in a home with several citrus trees in the yard so it's nice to just go in back and pick your own oranges, lemons, or limes. One of the perks of living in southern California!

Now back to Shadow Hunters. I just wanted to say thanks to @melinda010100 for running the competition, it's a lot of fun. Feel free to join in on the fun, you can check out Melinda's post here on how to enter: https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@melinda010100/shadow-hunters-smash-contest-round-7a89cade5c0dc

Thanks for taking to to stop by and check out my post, I really appreciate it. I know it's a departure from the usual silver coins and treasure hunting, but variety is the spice of life! Have a great weekend everyone!

Haha, I would have guessed the first one was an ancient monolith. I took a good one today, but I think it would be super obvious what it was!

It surprised me when I saw it, so I had to get a picture. Can't wait to see yours!

Interesting shadows, my friend, I like how you did the reveal showing us how you created the shadow!😊
Did you pick the citrus off of one of your trees?
Nice that you can walk in the backyard and pick one from your own tree!🤗

That one came off the same tree in the second shadow. It's nice to have citrus growing in the backyard. I'll miss it when I move out of here!

That’s so nice, way too cold up here, we even have trouble growing tomatoes…!🙄
Nothing like Cincinnati our hometown!😇

It's one of the few nice things here anymore. Taxes and prices are so high it's getting to the point I'm probably going to sell the house and move out of state. I love the weather and the fruit trees, but enough is enough!

Unfortunately, it isn’t much better up in Washington state!🙄
My youngest grown son has given up on buying a home!😮

I was going to guess the first one was one of those steel shooting targets that fall over. 😆

I only took the picture because it looked like a human figure. Kind of looks like the range dummies in the military that pop up to shoot at them.

It's quite fun to hunt for shadows indeed. Whenever I capture one I always think it's time to enter the shadow hunters contest again (it's been forever lol) but then I forget.

This was a fun read though you may have inspired me to join later this week..

Have a good weekend over there !PIZZA

Good shadows, it is very curious how the shadows take, totally different from the objects that cause them, I think they are responsible for many horror stories 😆😅✌️
