My Week in Review for August 10, 2024, A Great Week!

This morning I was thinking about when I first started blogging here on Hive. It's been a little more than a year and a half now that I've been posting pretty consistently. My goals have drastically changed since that time, I mainly wanted to earn a little money to help expand my Splinterlands cards back then. Now I'm more focused on growing my Hive Power and investment tokens. I've even started the DUO token project together with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It's been a fun journey and my writing skills have improved by leaps and bounds.

My first big goal I set when I joined the Saturday Savers group was to reach 5,000 Hive Power this year. So let's jump into the numbers to see how things are coming along.

Hive Power

I'm currently at 4,100 as of the moment of writing up this post. That's an increase of 99 HP over last week, it was a much better week than I had been expecting. That's about 82% of the way to my goal of 5K HP. Now not only am I confident I will make it to my goal but I am sure to exceed it significantly. As I long as I keep up consistent posting it should be a cakewalk!

A big part of my goal was to grow this account organically without bringing in a bunch of funds from BTC. I want to prove that organic growth is possible on Hive. It's much easier to onboard and retain new members with my own experience. With any luck it will help bring some new recruits to share with us here on Hive.

Leo

last week I added LEO to the goals for the year, shooting for 1,500 by Jan. 1. I have just over 962 total right now so it's very doable, hopefully just from earning on my posts. I'm hoping to have more that 1K staked on the next LPUD which come up on the 15th to the month! I understand that once you have more than 1K staked you can request two additional curations a month, and curations are always welcome in my book!

PIMP

As I have mentioned in the past PIMP is one of my favorite projects, and I still want to achieve 50K total tokens this year. Right now I have just about 26,900 PIMP, up a couple hundred. The prices continue to be higher than I want to pay, so for now I'm watching and waiting before I buy more.

HSBI

I've already surpassed my goal of 2K HSBI units this year. I didn't set a new goal but I just keep piling them up, I figure you can never have too many HSBI...

I'm up 64 units on the week, not too bad for not really trying!

Passing the 2K mark wasn't an easy task. For months I was giving out HSBI daily in a re-blog lottery. Eventually it became too much work so I cut back to my current weekly one. DUO

I have to include DUO as it is the token I started recently with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It's already becoming a very important part of my Hive investment portfolio. If you stake 200 DUO you can receive a daily curation from the @duo-curator on quality posts, and the project already has almost 12K HP so the votes are becoming significant. Everyone staking 200 DUO or more receive a daily dividend in the form of liquid Hive. The more you own and stake the higher the dividend you will receive. We have a few people with over 1,000 staked DUO and are receiving nice dividends on their investment.

Additionally if you stake 500 or more DUO you can send a daily tip of DUO on an interesting post and in return you get the same amount of the tip staked in your account. With DUO it pays to tip! I love tipping others people's quality work, so it's nice having the ability to tip with the DUO token!

SIM

I continue to hold just over one million SIM. I'm down just a little because I do play the game and with some rule changes I had to buy a building which was expensive, 40K SIM. So I am planning on buying some more this week to get closer to 1.2 million again.

This token is inflationary, so you may lose some money on the capital you invest. The trade off is that it pay daily liquid Hive dividends, which is why I'm holding so many!

PWR

I'm continuing to delegate HP to empo.voter to receive daily PWR tokens. Currently I am placing all tokens earned into liquidity pools to earn further token rewards. Eventually it will pay on liquid Hive dividends to PWR holders which is why I like it!

Other Tokens

No changes here, just continuing to collect EDS, DBOND, and DAB. I'm not actively buying more of these or miners. I like all three projects so I will continue to let them pile up in my wallet!

Silver

Silver prices continue to struggle and the market crash didn't help either. Right now there is a lot of uncertainty in the markets which will tend to drive up the price of precious metals. As a member of the silver gold stackers community we all believe in holding precious metals because they will always have value. You can't say that for cash.

This week I'll feature the Mexican Libertad silver round. They are produced by the Mexican government and a great way to invest in silver with a beautiful design.

Right now random year Maple Leaf coins are selling for $32.65 on Apmex.com, about $4.99 over the spot price of silver. These are great bullion coins to own and are very popular with investors. They are priced nicely right now with the pull back in silver prices, so it may be a great time to buy!

DUO token
