Nineties Friday with From Dusk Till Dawn

I can't believe it's already Friday! It really seems like we just started the year and it's more than halfway over. Being Friday I will be doing a post for Nineties Friday which is an event started by @geneeverett where you can share just about anything from the decade of the 1990's. Your imagination really is the limit! You can also win 6 HSBI, one winner is chosen weekly! Gene usually focuses on music but I like to throw in some other stuff to keep it interesting.

If you recognize the picture in the header you already know where I'm going to be starting off. It's a memorable performance by Salma Hayek as Santanico Pandemonium. Lets' jump into today's edition of Nineties Friday!

From Dusk Till Dawn

facts.net

This classic film from 1996 was written by none other than Quentin Tarantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez. It boasted an all star cast with George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Harvey Keitel, Salma Hayek, Juliette Lewis and Cheech Marin. It follows the story of two criminal (Clooney and Tarantino) on the run to get to Mexico who have the misfortune of running into vampires. If you haven't seen it it's a great vampire movie and well worth watching!

Jurassic Park

lifeatthemovies.com

This Steven Spielberg classic film was released in 1993 creating a whole new standard in film making. It's amazing film starring very realistic dinosaurs. It also had a star studded cast of Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil, and Laura Dern. This was the film that launched the franchise that is still running today as Jurassic World 4 is set to be released soon. It's one of the best films of the 90's and I always enjoy seeing in when it's on the TV.

Now lets's dive into some music from the 1990's!

Rob Zombie

srkkkqgfucbqbmf.blogspot.com

Rob Zombie has been a life long fan of old zombie movies, even naming his first band White Zombie after the 1932 horror film by the same name considered to be the first zombie movie ever made. After switching to a heavy metal sound for their third album White Zombie became a mainstream heavy metal band. Rob then decided to go solo in 1996 and released his debut album "Hellbilly Deluxe" in 1998. The best known song on the album was "Dragula" which I shared awhile back, the second would be "Living Dead Girl":

Live

banana1015.com

Formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984 this band took several years and a name change before they would break into the mainstream music scene. First called First Aid they changed the band name to Live for their third album "Throwing Copper" released in 1994. It produced three hits for the band including "Lightning Crashes", "All Over You", and "I Alone". Today I decided to go with the last on the list, here's "I Alone":

Since I lived most of the 1990's in countries that spoke Spanish, I like throw in one or two song in Spanish from the era. Here is one of the most influential Mexican artists:

Thalía

wegow.com

Thalía is a Mexican singer and actress that rose to prominence in the mid to late 1990's. Although her career started as a child singer and actress it was her 1997 album "Amor A La Mexicana" (Mexican Style Love) that made her an international star. This song was her second release from her album "Amor A La Mexicana" called "Por Amor" (For Love):

That will wrap up this edition of #ninetiesfriday. I hope you enjoyed the movies and music I included in today's post. Feel free to join in the fun and write up a post for 90's Friday yourself, just add the tag #ninetiesfriday and it wouldn't hurt to do a shoutout to @geneeverett as well. Please feel free to ask any questions or to comment below. Thank you everyone for all of your support, it really is greatly appreciated!

It's been around since 1993 when the original came out, now it's Jurassic World. I hope the next movie's good, the last one was pretty good when they brought back Sam Neil, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum!

Pulp Fiction was hard to beat in many ways including the soundtrack! Tarantino says he's done making movies now which is a shame. He wanted to make a Star Trek movie but with his style, blood and gore. That would have cool!

Oh I would have loved him to do a star trek in which almost everyone dies throughout the movie... he might change his mind one day...or need mo money

A Tarantino Star Trek would be awesome, Chris Pine was aboard but they couldn't get the studio to green light it!
