Nineties Friday with Toy Story!

Welcome back to another edition of #NinetiesFriday ! This is a weekly event where you can share just about anything from the decade of the 1990's. Your imagination is really the only limit! From the header up above I bet you can already tell where we are heading first today. There were some great movies made in the nineties, like I usually mention Pulp Fiction was my favorite. However, there were so many great films made including this creation from Pixar. Toy Story changed the face of animated movies forever and was a wonderful movie.

Toy Story story was released in 1995 and produced by Pixar for the Disney Corporation. Back in the good old days that Disney produced new and original content... This movie has been regarded as one of the best animated movies ever and one of the best films of he 1990's. This is one I never saw in the theatre and as a matter of fact I honestly don't remember when I first saw it... Alzheimer's kicking in early I guess... But I remember enjoying and it was a great movie. I decided to throw in an original trailer just for fun!

Fargo was one of the best films made in the 1990's and anyone who has seen it will remember the wood chipper scene. This was made by the brothers Joel and Ethan Coen who have produced many hit movies over the years. The film starts out with William H. Macy as a struggling car dealer who hires two criminals to kidnap his wife so he can extort money from her rich father. Things don't go as planned and things just get darker and darker from there.

Founded in 1987 in Seattle, Washington this legendary band struggled to get attention in the beginning. It wasn't until they added Dave Grohl as drummer in 1990 that things really started to happen. In 1991 they released "Nevermind" and it changed the world of rock essentially ending the eras of hair bands. Of of the same album was this song, "In Bloom":

Formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984 this band took several years to break into the mainstream music scene. Their third album "Throwing Copper" catapulted them to stardom with multiple hits. Last week I shared "I Alone", so this week I decided to share another, "All Over You". Unfortunately they didn't make a video for the song and I couldn't find a live version I liked. So this is of the remastered album:

Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters formed as a band in Seattle, Washington in 1994. Dave Grohl transitioned from drummer in Nirvana to front man in his new band. The released their debut album in 1995 and the legendary band was born. This song comes from the debut album and is a performance on the David Letterman show, here's "Big Me":

Like I always do I like to share at least one or two songs in Spanish because I lived in countries that really only spoke Spanish in the 1990's.

Shakira

Shakira was already a mega star in the Latin American music scene by 1996 after the release of her third album. Her fourth album called "Dónde Están los Ladrones?" (Where Are The Thieves?) caught the attention of audiences worldwide and her English albums soon followed. One of the biggest hits off of that album was "Ciega, Sordamuda" (Blind, Deaf, Mute):

That is one dark and messed up movie, and once you start watching you can't stop! It's like watching a train wreck. It was really well done!

You must have missed my HPUD where I featured Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet! That was from 2 days ago. He was great in the shrunk movies, but no one has managed to talk him out of retirement. Now that they're making a Spaceballs 2 I'm hoping he'll come back to movie making. He's a funny guy!

I watched the five season of Fargo on the tv series.
It was and will remain the best series in my opinion in this drama genra

Being a Real Madrid fan I went off Shakira when she dated and married Pique the Barcelona centre back.
I think I would have Dave Grohl as the most influential musician of the 90s. Great tunes today.

Hole cripes Toy Story premiered in 1995. Dang where has time went 😂 I was thinking 15 years ago, probably the later parts is throwing me off.

Whywhy did I miss this....I mean Tiy Story...not my fav but that first album of Live.... not a bad song on it!!! Well i guess the heat made me slow but I ll Be back!

It happens, I miss stuff all the time.... Toy Story was huge for Disney and still is today. Still working on my post for today, no kids stuff today though!
