How is the weekend going for everyone so far? Things around here have been enjoyable. I love those lazy, low stress weekends like this one!

It's Sunday again which means time for another giveaway. Hard to believe it already week 32 on this particular initiative. It's still going strong and people seem to enjoy it as do I, so I think it still has a very bright future. This last week the entry question was about preferences between coffee or tea. There was on very clear winner on this one, coffee was the winner by knockout in the first round!

I personally prefer dark roast coffee without cream or sugar, but on occasion I drink tea as well, especially iced tea with some fresh lime. There were so many great responses this week, most liked coffee but almost everyone liked their own particular formulation which didn't surprise me. I decided it might be fun to talk about a few of them.

Expresso

agro20.com.br

First up my buddy @whywhy shared his favorite as expresso. He even has his own machine at home, so what's not to love? I've always loved some good expresso, it gives you that nice caffeine jolt with a great tasting coffee. Too bad we can't all have expresso machines at home!

Americano

izzycooking.com

Next up was the Americano chosen by @ronnie10 ! This is expresso diluted down just a bit, but it still tastes great! Can't go wrong with an Americano either!

Glacier Creek Breakfast Blend

This is the pick of @elizabethbit and @silvertop , which makes since because they have been married for just a few years.... I was looking this one up and couldn't find much online. Do you guys have any good references to check them out. It sure sounds really good!

Dark Roast

cananut.com

Dark roast coffee was the pick of @henruc ! A man with impeccable taste just like mine. He prefers the ones with chocolate in the background flavor, as do I. I also love the ones with a definite caramel flavor in the background. Finding a really good dark roast can be very difficult, the best ones can be very expensive at times. But wow, it tastes awesome!

Iced Tea

chow.com

Iced Tea was the pick of @kungfukid , and I enjoy some too especially on a hot day. I like mine unsweetened with some lime. It's very refreshing! Anyone else have their own preference?

Green Tea

archanaskitchen.com

Green Tea or Chamomile was the pick by @mcoinz79 . I like them both too, but drink darker teas usually. I do love chamomile tea late in the afternoon when I am trying to avoid too much caffeine late in the day. Great stuff!

Coffee Arabica/Robust Blend

Coffee Arabica/ Robusta in an 80/20 ratio was the pick by @logen9f . It sounds great since Robust does have that higher caffeine percentage. I've never tried this one, but I'll give it a shot. It sounds like a custom blend as I rarely see anything but Arabica here in the US.

This weeks entry question

Well, onto to today's contest: What is the very first video game you ever played?

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a fourth prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you an HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

If you have more questions about DUO feel free to ask, it's growth is exceeding all of our expectations!

Legendary Splinterlands card up for grabs this next week:

A level 1 Void Dragon, this one is a great card!

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week. The list so far is rather short:

@hiveborgminer
@kungfukid
@stekene
@elizabethbit
@ronnie10
@whywhy
@cositav

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is an easy one:
What is the very first video game you ever played?

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

https://ecency.com/post/@steembasicincome/hive-sbi

Or check out my recent post:

https://labs.inleo.io/@thebighigg/hsbi-what-are-they-my-experience-and-a-starter-guide

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. And the third prize will be two DUO tokens. Fourth prize is a legendary Splinterlands card or one HSBI unit! And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

Deadline

Please note I am changing it to earlier on Sunday to make it easier on me if I'm headed out for the day
One week from today which will be Sunday October 27, 2024 at 8 A.M. California Pacific Time.

Now to choose last week's lucky winners!

And the first spin!

Congratulations @geneeverett ! You have won 5 HSBI units!

And the second spin!

Congratulations @shiftrox ! You have won 5 HSBI units!

The third spin

Congratulations @henruc ! You have won two DUO tokens! Only 198 more staked to receive a daily curation and daily Hive dividends!

I honestly expected this spin to go to @whywhy because her keeps wining it, and what's funny is it nearly did, @henruc won by the skin of his teeth, it nearly went to @whywhy again!

The fourth spin

Congratulations @lolodens , you have won your choice of the legendary Splinterlands card or two HSBI units. It used to be one but because the card is worth a little more than two Hive I decided two would be more fair if you don't want the Void Dragon. Let me know which you prefer and I'll get it over to you!

Surprise bonus spin

Just to make things a little more exciting I'm throwing in an extra bonus spin. The winner will receive 2 DUO tokens!

Congratulations @silvertop , you just won two DUO tokens!

That will wrap up the giveaway for this week. Next Sunday I'll be back to giveaway some more great prizes. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Especially to answer today's entry question! Thank you for all of your support, without it these giveaways wouldn't be possible. Have a great Sunday everyone!

And since I am posting this in the #freecompliments community, I just want to remind everyone to take a few minutes to be kind today. Your kindness can make a big difference in someone's life!

Oh! I've won! The Void Dragon, please. I'm trying to increase my owned cards. Hehehe! Thanks a lot! And more power!

What is the very first video game you ever played?

If I remember correctly, Galaga was the first video game I played when I was a child. I only got the chance to play it because my cousin had an Atari console (though I'm not sure if it was really an Atari). However, I couldn't visit their house often, so I rarely got to play back then.

By the way, is it okay if I request to be added to the list of users you notify weekly? I noticed that I haven’t asked to be added yet, and I’m not on the list. Thanks in advance!

I'm glad you won 5 HSBI! This will help me a lot, thank you very much!

From my memory, I think the first video game I played was the Atari, but I'm not sure, if not, my first contact was with an "NES" or what we call here the "Nintendinho".

I remember that system well! It was a lot of fun! The funny thing is that the big box of a console was pretty high tech for the day! I loved playing Nintendo!

Being a kid was great! I had the original Nintendo when I was around 15, it was a lot of fun. Before that I had the original Atari, back in the eighties!

I got to play the Atari, a friend of mine who lived opposite me had it, I remember it was black and the joystick looked like the gears on a fighter plane if I'm not mistaken, but it's been a long time so I'm not sure.

I guess I have played some video games that I don't know their names. But, the oldest one that I remember is, Super Mario.
This question will probably give you a hint of how old each person is. Lol

The first video game I remember playing is Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. I might have played some random game on my parent's PC but this was the one I can name and played more than a few times. I was just a kid and I didn't beat that many levels but I had fun with it.

I'm going to show my age but I believe it was Pong on the original Atari console. The joystick 🕹 with the single red button. Oh those days of simple video game pleasure 😄

Yup know that line well. I remember the big deal they made of Asteroids. That's a game I played for hours. I think it was also the first video game over $30

I played that game all of the time too! It was a really fun game! I didn't realize it was over $30, the first truly expensive game!

I think my parents got that game at Sears, haha. Sears was the shit back in the day. If memory serves me right it was on the Atari 2600. Also remember Pitfall thinking the graphics were awesome, haha

Sears really was the place back then, I remember the old Sears catalog.... I don't remember Pitfall, I may not have had it. Those pixelated graphics did look really cool back then. Amazing how much the world had changed in those few years...

I remember as if it were yesterday, and it is precisely because it was the first game, I will always remember, I played it at the house of a neighbor whose parents worked in the gold mines, so they had more chance to have an Atari, so the first time I played a video game was the ATARI PONG my neighbor had two types of control knobs, one was the lever that you could move it up down right left, and the other type of control, was a knob, which only rotated, but I preferred the one that was lever type.

I think it may have been Pong for me too, either that or breakout. My memory isn't quite what it used to be... The controllers are completely vague now, man I must be getting old....

Did working in the gold mines pay better back then?

I suppose so, because while my house was made of mud, theirs was a block house and they even had air conditioning, so I think that if they made a lot of money, at that time the government controls were not so rigorous.

I do remember that game because the screen was all black and had those little white bars that moved and you didn't have to let the little white circle go by, I really haven't forgotten that.

I had several friends in South America who had dirt floors in their homes, this was back in the nineties. I'm sure many people live that way still. But it always makes me grateful for what I have now. They were great friends and really nice people!
