Ten HSBI and two DUO Tokens Giveaway!

Welcome back to my weekly ten HSBI giveaway. In the past giveaways I have been offering up a third prize in the form of a legendary or gold Splinterlands card. But I've come to the conclusion that almost no one ever wants the card and I give them out an HSBI instead. So this week I'll be switching to a new third prize of two DUO tokens.

DUO is a brand new token just released by the Hive Onboarding Committee (HOC.) Proceeds of the token sales go toward supporting new members in the Hive community. As you all know it's difficult to onboard new people into the Hive ecosystem and the HOC's goal to help recruit and retain new members. But there is more, DUO holders also receive rewards for staking DUO in the form of curation of quality posts and Hive dividends.

Check out @bulliontools post today for more detailed information: https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@bulliontools/duo-new-hive-engine-token-on-the-block

And also the white paper: https://peakd.com/pimp/@hive-193566/duo-white-paper

Let's get moving on to the reason you are here, the giveaway! All you have to do is answer one simple question. Now that summer is here in force in the northern hemisphere we can get all kinds of local fresh fruit. Of course it's winter down in the southern hemisphere, but in December in South America they have some of the best fruit grown on the planet. What is your favorite fruit of them all? Feel free to share pictures if it's something exotic!

I have to go with mangos having lived so many years in the Caribbean. I had a tree in my backyard, it was heaven!!! Second place would be cherimoya, a fruit from South America that was author Mark Twain's favorite fruit. It looks kind of like an alien egg on the outside, but it is so good....

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a third prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you an HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week. The list so far is rather short:

@hiveborgminer
@kungfukid
@stekene

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is an easy one: What is your favorite fruit? How's that for easy?

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Or check out my recent post:

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it three times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. And the third prize will be two DUO tokens. And since I am spinning the same wheel three times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all three prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

Deadline
One week from today which will be Sunday July 7, 2024 at 12 PM California Pacific Time.

Now to choose last week's lucky winners!

And the first spin!

Congratulations @elizabethbit ! Two wins in a row, she must have found a four leaf clover!

And the second spin!

Congratulation @davedickeyyall ! You have won 5 HSBI! Some HSBI and hopefully you've got some good weed today!

And the third spin!

Congratulations @happyphoenix ! You have won your choice of one HSBI or the Djinn Oshannus Splinterlands card. Just let me know which you prefer and I'll get it sent off!

That will just about wrap up the contest for this Sunday. Congratulations to the winners! I want to thank everyone for their support, without it I wouldn't be able to give out these prizes to help fellow Hive members. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great remainder of the weekend!

And since I am posting this in the #freecompliments community, I just want to remind everyone to take a few minutes to be kind today. Your kindness can make a big difference in someone's life!

Long weekends are great! DUO is a cool project, we've been working for a couple of months getting it all put together.

Those are all great fruits, I haven't had any sour cherries this year. Those sound good! Just had some blackberries this morning!

Sounds interesting. I am probably going to let that one go though. I already went really hard into RUG.

Berries in general but my favorite of favorites are cherries. We got them locally through June, definitely a month in which I spend quite some money on fresh fruit ^^

Cherries are great, especially mid summer when they are full of flavor. Great pick!

A nice juicy watermelon is always a treat. I remember in South America I used to be able to buy a whole watermelon for $0.25 each... The good old days!

But why won't anyone want a gold or legendary splinterlands cards? It's a very attractive reward.

It's good to see you post today, how are you doing?

No idea, I've been doing this for I think 15 weeks now and I only ever gave out one gold card, everyone else wanted the HSBI... I may throw in a Djinn Oshannus for a surprise fourth prize next week to see what happens...

Not too bad, still a little sore, my lower back is taking it's time calming down, but the last couple days have been quite a bit better. How are you feeling?

Look what I just pulled out of a Gladius case.

My first gold legendary in Gladius packs!

My goodness, this card could have easily been 50k DEC when splinterlands hasn't messed up with the reward system. Congratulations on that card..

It's 50K power! It would have brought in 50K DEC back in the day... They shouldn't have changed the reward system. I only had a level 1 of this card, and the gold is level 2 so for now it's a keeper. My account under this username so rarely pulls gold legendary cards, whereas my secondary account pulls them almost all the time. Makes no sense... Luck of the draw!

I think it's just random luck that your second account does better. If I pulled such cards back in the day, I'll convert back to DEC and improve other cards, of course this option is no longer possible, they really did ruin that one..

Good to hear about the DUO token sounds awesome!👍
My favorite fruit……
That would have to be Honeycrisp apples, delicious and native grown over on the eastern side of the mountains!😊

Those are good apples! Would they grow in your yard?

I believe they would, Apples seems to be the one thing that we can grow in the foothills, even with colder wet springs😇
We have several yellow delicious apple trees, plus a Granny Smith that grow in our yard 😊

Can you believe I only ate these once lol. I see them in the supermarket every time but only tried it once when my boyfriend got curious.

My favourite fruit is a GOOD dark watermelon. But I'm very very picky because it's the same stupid cycle. Watermelons are available year round I think. At some point they are there more and more, but always the ones with pits in it. I learned that the "sandia negra" is my absolute favourite.

We won't buy them until they are around 80 cents a kg, first we buy the "rayada" melons because they hit that price first.. followed by our favourites and then we enjoy them for some time until we notice they taste too chemical and the decline is there again.

BUT I think avocado is high on my list as well, although there's a huge decline in quality at some point with these two, thankfully I can at least find them high quality year round for good prices unlike the watermelon.

The best thing about avocados is that my daughter loves them on a toast as well as in a smoothie. So I take advantage of that by having them quite often.

I love avocados! They are just so creamy and delicious. Sandia negra is really good, hard to find it here ironically, but it was everywhere in South America. I used to buy a whole melon for $0.25 back then, living in South America was great!

I haven't had breakfast yet and now I want some avocados, I don't have any right now so I'll have to run to the store later!

They sure are! We had an avocado smoothie today, I always throw in some chia seeds as well.. it's just so totally different the creaminess of avocado in smoothies.. really good!

Oh I would have never guessed that you couldn't find them easily there! 25 cents sounds like a dream lol.

I accidentally opened an unripe avocado, hate when that happens lol, now I must hope it's ok tomorrow :) Hope you had a good breakfast!

Thank you @thebighigg for the HSBI! I am shocked I won, lol!

Now......for my absolute favorite fruit........it has to be the Bing Cherry! They recently have come into season here and this year, these things are around 1-1.5" big! I've never seen them this size before! They are sweet and juicy and very tasty! Yum!!!

If I had to choose a second place fruit, it might be the Asian Pears (seem like a cross between an apple and a pear) or just a simple orange. I think I'm hungry now........

Take care and have a wonderful week!

You're welcome, you are on one heck of a hot streak! Those are some big Bing cherries! They are really tasty especially this time of year. I love the Rainier variety as well!

I love Asian pears, they are so good aren't they? Most people don't know what they are but they are great. I dated a Vietnamese girl years ago and got introduced to all sorts of great food, like Asian pears! You have a great week too!

That's the one fruit I have never managed to learn to enjoy... I know some people love it, but it's the of the very few foods I would ever pass on!

I'm glad to hear that you like it though, you must have grown up with it around the house?

My favorite "everyday" fruit is apple. But not all apple types. My favorite is Granny Smith, they're green apples.

If Strawberry is considered a fruit, that's my overall favorite.
