Three Tune Tuesday Week #154, My Weekly Edition

generated with ideogram.ai

There was a time when Tuesday would roll around and I actually had a plan of what I was going put together. I'm afraid those days are long gone because I end up working on a project around the house or yard on Monday and I don't even think about #threetunetuesday until it's already here. So the first thing I did to put together a fun selection for the day was to generate a nice header using AI. I kind of liked how this one came out, ironically it didn't take a whole lot of prodding this time to pull up something interesting. One big complaint I have with using AI in the process is that it can get creative on spelling. Somehow it will frequently misspell one of the words, it's artificial something but I'm doubting the intelligence part...

First off I want to thank @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this weekly event. It's only here that you will hear all sorts of genres of music from around the world. @qwerrie just published his #TTT about music from the USSR, it was written in Russian but I used a translator. Didn't understand the lyrics but it was great music!

So I guess I'll dive in and pick out some music. Since the header came out sort of heavy metal/ hard rock in appearance lets just roll with it. And maybe even add in some punk, I'll add in a couple fun bonus songs just for @geneeverett ! Since I've been sharing newer music lately I decided to jump on back to the 1980's just for the day, starting off with some classic Van Halen!

Van Halen

nme.com

Van Halen formed in Pasadena, California in 1973 and added front man David Lee Roth in 1974. Just like so many other bands they had a hard time getting along. But they produced some of the best hard rock in the late 1970's and into the 1980's. With Eddie Van Halen's amazing guitar and Roth's vocals they were at their finest. I thought today it would be fun to hear a little "Hot For Teacher":

Poison

fanpop.com

Poison formed as a band in Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania of all places, in 1983. They soon relocated to Los Angeles and picked up guitarist C.C. DeVille. While auditioning for guitarists they famously turned away Slash of Guns N Roses fame and picked DeVille. In 1986 they recorded their breakthrough album "Look What The Cat Dragged In" and the rest was history. Here's "Talk Dirty To Me" from that same album!

Guns N Roses

And how could I talk about Slash without adding in some Guns N Roses when they were at their finest and still actually all liked each other. Their breakthrough album "Appetite For Destruction" in 1987 catapulted them from obscurity to the top of the music world. Here is a live performance from 1988 of "Night Train":

The Dead Milkmen

maniadb.com

And now for some punk! These guys formed their band in 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After a couple years they managed to record their first album after finding success in the local college scene. I recall owning the cassette tape version of that album "Big Lizard In My Backyard", that was a long time ago! I have shared two of their most well known songs, "Punk Rock Girl" and "Bitchin' Camaro". These guys are really funny!

Well those three song turned into five, oh well, they're all a lot of fun. Next time I'll be going back to newer music again. But every now and again it's fun to re-live to 1980's!

That will just about do it for me today. I hope you enjoyed one or more of the songs. Thanks for your support everyone, it is truly appreciated! If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments please feel free to leave them below, thanks again!

And since I am posting in the #freecompliments community I just wanted to remind everyone to take some time today to be kind. A little kindness can make a huge difference in someone's life. Please check out the community and consider joining us!

And a quick shoutout to @inthenow since I put in some nice hard rock/ heavy metal!

Dead Milken! My old band covered the song “Punk Rock Girl” 🎸. Nice! Pretty pretty pretty good bonus!

They were awesome, I believe they still perform minus the bassist who passed away of an overdose years ago. I still remember that album on cassette tape, before CD's. I don't think I ever had the vinyl, that would be awesome!

That's a great song to cover!

Ironically, Bitchin' Camaro & Punk Rock Girl were the only songs I ever heard by them until years later! That’s funny you picked those 2

I'm still trying to get some Poison on vinyl, but I haven't been able to find one at a price I like yet. Nice selections today
