The Genie - Coffee Related Wishes Only!
In the kitchen
I was cleaning out the cupboards recently because I love starting the holidays with a freshly cleaned house and I totally expect to be too tired the first week to take upon the extra cleaning. Clearing the kitchen of unused as well as outdated products is something I always see as a fulfilling task when it's done.
A collection of jars
In the past year since we moved in, I saved a few jars here and there as I figured they might come in handy sometime in the future. It's exactly this moment of the summer holidays when I start to think of craft or food-related projects to use them for so they will finally come in handy. I have all types of jars, the ones that I think will be used best are the glass jars from the olives we recently started eating a lot. Every time a jar is empty it feels as if a voice in my head is speaking to me to not throw it away as it will come in handy later.
By now, one cupboard is filled with mostly jars and I feel kind of stupid for collecting them as I still don't have a purpose for them. We don't have a big kitchen so something needs to change before they get thrown out. I pick up the jars one by one and I see a colored dot in the bottom of one of them. I look closer and it seems like it's smoking in the jar, I rub my eyes thinking I just landed into a dream or something. What is this?
I can't believe it!
The lid opens with a loud sound and immediately there's a purple-colored smoke coming out in the form of a tiny tornado, you know how you'd see Aladin's Genie come out of the lamp. I'm lost for words and have no clue what's happening. In fact, I fell down on my butt landing on the kitchen step, sitting down perfectly without hurting myself.
The genie is beautiful, she has the most intriguing eyes and purple eyelashes to die for. She looks at me with her friendly face, just smiling and wondering what I'm going to say to her. I'm lost for words still not able to say anything but to be in awe by her appearance.
"Hello" She says, "He-hello?" I answer with some hesitation as I still can't believe what happened.
One wish
"I'm Genie, the coffee Genie who can make all your coffee wishes come true. You are granted one wish but be mindful that this wish can be something coffee-related only, if you fail to use it for this purpose, a spell will be cast upon you and well, I can't promise it will be a good one."
I don't even know what to say, a spell? What is this? So now I have to be careful opening my mouth before I accidentally wish for something else and get locked up in a jar forever? My mind is playing tricks with me here, she didn't even mention I'd get locked up, but this whole situation is probably making me slightly delusional. Can you blame me?
Silence
For 10 minutes straight, I'm not speaking as I need to be smart with this wish and think it through. I see Genie's big brown eyes with her long purple eyelashes staring at me, waiting for me to speak. She keeps smiling and I slowly feel more comfortable. She says "You know what you want to wish, I can see it in your eyes, just tell me."
I'm afraid to speak, my mind repeats the wish I want to say out loud but I'm afraid to say something that makes her cast a spell on me. I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and say "I wish I had an indefinite supply of my own perfect coffee for the rest of my life, including the special coffee creamer I always use."
The Genie looks at me wondering if my coffee is that good and asks me first to make her one of these so she will not make a mistake in granting my wish. I stand up from the kitchen step, preparing her my perfect coffee, she takes a sip and says "Oh heaven, this is indeed very good! Alright then, your wish is my command."
Purple smoke
When she says these last words, the room is filled with purple smoke and a small tornado appears without doing any harm to the furniture, although the cats are all looking if they should be afraid or start hunting the Genie.
"Here's a secret cupboard hidden inside your wall, whenever you want to make your perfect coffee, tap your heels three times and it will open. You will find an indefinite supply of your ingredients there for as long as you live. Bye now!"
A flash of light disappears as quickly as she did, I decide to tap my heels three times to test it, this can't be true!
Oh my gosh, it is true!
Thank you, dear Genie!

GENERAL COMMUNITY RULES
update: 8 Jul 2023
This applies to #spillthebeans also.
Hi there, thank you, I hope I can remember the 3 different photos thing because for these writings I often a Canva creation :)
Thank you for letting me know <3
That's understandable.
It's just that the rules for the #spillthebeans initiative need to be in keeping with the general community rules, to comply with the requirements and quality of what constitutes incubation sponsorship.
It's also a general vigilance for maintaining a high standard on the Blockchain, especially with the prevalence of AI, which doesn't have a place in Cinnamon Cup Coffee.
Regards ☕️
Of course, I understand rules need to be there to make sure everyone knows what's expected within the community. My mind is a mess currently, so I may choose to temporarily not write a story to make sure I won't accidentally forget to add 3 pictures and then get muted while there's no bad intention.
I fully support communities tightening their rules with all the AI content out there where people don't make an effort of their own, don't get me wrong :)
It's more that I know that I'm not doing well with changes atm and it's a bit hard to change habits at the moment so I may start writing and then publish a story, to later realize that I'm not following rules, which I would hate happening as I love this community.
Have a great weekend! It's coffee time for me :)
I understand that too.
As curators, we have a job to check authors' work, and it's disheartening to see that people push boundaries and get lazy.
See you around the blockchain:))
So true, I know how hard that curation work can be, I have done my fair share over the years for many communities. Today I salute every curator out there for delivering such great work because I would go crazy nowadays with all the plagiarized content out there and the people reusing their content.
So, great job!
And I will still check the prompts and be here, not going anywhere. I have enough content in my folders to write about so it's also a matter of where my head is at every day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
The pride that you take in your work is highly appreciated. I'm not a fan of rewarding low-effort posts the same way that people like you take the time to craft great stories. Many curation trails vote blindly, so I prefer to leave low-effort posts to a good-luck chance by one of those trails.🤗
Thank you, I appreciate the recognition and the efforts of manual curation <3
