Ein Cornet Blond aus Belgien (GER / ENG)

Das neue Jahr hat begonnen und neben dem Verzicht auf Zucker gibt es für mich auch keinen Alkohol im Januar. Da meine Frau an Neujahr Geburtstag hat, beginnt unser Neujahr allerdings erst am 02. Januar da es auch zu Ihrem Geburtstag noch Kuchen geben soll.

Den 01. Januar habe ich noch genutzt um ein neues Bier auszuprobieren um damit an der 339. Ausgabe des Beersaturday teilzunehmen.

I used January 1st to try out a new beer to take part in the 339th edition of Beersaturday.

In der Familie hat es sich mittlerweile herumgesprochen, das ich einen drang dazu habe, verschiedene Bier auszuprobieren und somit bekomme ich zum Geburtstag oder zu Weihnachten auch immer wieder Bier geschenkt.

Von meiner Schwiegermutter habe ich zu Weihnachten ein Geschenkpaket mit mehreren Flaschen "Cornet Oaked Strong Blond" und 2 passenden Gläsern bekommen. Leider war eines der Gläser schon Kaputt im Paket allerdings reicht mir ja auch ein Glas.

Word has gotten around in the family that I have an urge to try different beers and so I always get beer as a birthday or Christmas present.

For Christmas, my mother-in-law gave me a gift package with several bottles of "Cornet Oaked Strong Blond" and 2 matching glasses. Unfortunately, one of the glasses was already broken in the package, but one glass is enough for me.

Die Vanillenote wurde ursprünglich durch die Lagerung des Biers in Eichenfässern erzeugt. Später wurde dies durch die Zugabe von Eichenholzspänen zum Bierbrauen nachgeahmt. In den letzten Jahren wurde Cornet mehrfach mit dem World Beer Award ausgezeichnet.

Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 8,5% Vol. ist es schon deutlich stärker als das gewöhnliche Bier.

Die Farbe des Bieres ist Goldgelb und oben drauf ergibt sich eine schöne schaumige Krone. Was sofort auffällt sind die Blasen im Glas. Hier scheint einiges an Kohlensäure vorhanden zu sein.

The color of the beer is golden yellow and there is a nice frothy crown on top. The bubbles in the glass are immediately noticeable. There seems to be quite a bit of carbon dioxide here.

Der erste Eindruck ist süß und malzig. Die Vanillenote schmecke ich leider nicht heraus. Den Alkohol merkt man etwas da er ein warmes Gefühl hinterlässt, wenn das Bier den Weg in Richtung Magen antritt.
Trotz des hohen Alkoholgehaltes ist es jedoch trotzdem erfrischend und schmeckt eher nach einer Mischung aus einem Blond und einem Pilsener.

The first impression is sweet and malty. Unfortunately, I can't taste the vanilla note. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable as it leaves a warm feeling when the beer makes its way to the stomach.
Despite the high alcohol content, however, it is still refreshing and tastes more like a mixture of a blonde and a pilsner.

Fazit

Die Gestaltung des Etiketts hat mich eher an ein Discounter-Bier erinnert als an ein gutes Blond. Von daher war ich skeptisch, wie dieses Bier schmecken sollte.
Ich wurde hier jedoch positiv überrascht und habe hier ein Bier bekommen, das ich sehr lecker finde.
Da ich jetzt noch ein paar Flaschen davon übrig habe freue ich mich schon darauf im Februar ein weiteres zu trinken.

Conclusion

The design of the label reminded me more of a discount beer than a good blonde. So I was skeptical about how this beer would taste.
However, I was pleasantly surprised and got a beer that I find very tasty.
As I still have a few bottles left, I'm already looking forward to drinking another one in February.

Das ist ein leckeres Bierchen. Hatte ich auch schon.

Den Verzicht auf Zucker lebe ich ebenfalls, allerdings mit der Einschränkung, das ich max. 2 Bier am Tag trinken darf. ;-)

Im Bier (zumindest in der deutsche Variante) ist ja auch kein Zucker enthalten. Ist alles zu Alkohol vergoren 😀!

Über die Vorweihnachtszeit und die Feiertage habe ich bisschen was zugelegt. Das muss jetzt alles wieder runter bis Karneval.
