A Quiet End... And Now We Start Again!

The month ended quietly, and both @cosmictriage and myself "pivoted" a bit, trying to find our creative energies, ahead of the arts and crafts show we will be attending the weekend after next... as vendors.

It marks the beginning of the fall event schedule for us... and we're cautiously hopeful that these gigs will help our precarious finances a bit... although these days it feels a bit like hope itself is a risky proposition!

What the final four months of 2023 will bring us I really don't know. Maybe it's just a sign of the times that I have pretty much given up on the whole idea of trying to predict anything, anymore. Even when there's a 50/50 chance, I seem to miss the mark more often than not, and disappointment seems to have become an uncomfortably large part of life's menu, these days.

I was never any kind of eternal optimist, more like a cautiously optimistic realist. Which means you're unlikely to catch me doing a happy dance when all indicators are negative.

Would I feel more positive if the cryptosphere wasn't in the toilet? As I write these words, Hive is flirting with its lows from the end of December, 2022 and I'm struggling to see anything standing in the way of a continued slump. I hope I'm wrong, of course!

It's not going to stop me from blogging, of course, it's just going to stop me from seeing this as anything relating to income and wealth... much as I did back when we had 7-cent $teem.

Difficulties in the world seem far more widespread than our local sphere, as I watch retired people return to the workforce as the only way to make ends meet.

I guess one way to try to stay positive is to remember to be grateful for the small things when they happen... the big picture may look bleak but small positives do happen all the time! Remembering and honoring them makes things seem a little less dark!
