Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Fighting With 2 Gladius Cards Is Fun!

Time flies! Just completed the 80th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 4th

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 10 guilds and got 646 Merits and around 9 SPS! Better than last round but these days, the guild, or perhaps even the game, is lacking player participation as a whole.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 6 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

Divine Shield ruleset made this battle very draggy. After the initial round, Isgald Vorst managed to hunt down the backline while the two tanks even themselves out at the front. With a few Bloodlust, nothing could stop Isgald Vorst thereafter.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

Yet another fight involving Divine Shield - this time from the opposing summoner. A tougher match than the previous, but like I have always mentioned, I am confident of my Water lineups and once again, they delivered.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

It's rare to get 99 mana battles these days but here's one! Oh goodness and there's Rebirth as well. Another long and draggy battle as I opted for a Life/Dragon Magic lineup. I stumbled at the start but my opponent missed a few Ranged hits, giving me the chance to get back into the game, and Captain Katie by then had turned into a monster.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon

This was disastrous from start to finish as I couldn't cope with the huge damage output from my opponent. He used his Gladius cards better as well. As always, still room of improvement for non-Water battles.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

If Isgald Vorst was scary enough, how come two Water Gladius cards? This was the 3rd Divine Shield battle this brawl and I had to dig deep once more. The Scattershot was really down to randomness but fortunately my cards had more HP than my opponent's. Hard to pinpoint who was the MVP this round so I will give it to the summoner for allowing the use of 2 Gladius cards.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

These kind of battles are the ones that you need to exercise some creativity given the restrictions. Opted for a huge 12 mana card and it paid off. Drybone Raider was the right card for this battle and it's hard to imagine how else to field.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

Rebirth again!? I reused the same strategy by fielding 2 Water Gladius cards in this full Melee setup, which included Demented Shark of course. Once Isgald Vorst shone and took advantage of all the Rebirths to chalk up Bloodlust after Bloodlust. Fantastic performance this brawl.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 86% win rate, with Isgald Vorst getting a record 3 MVPs!
