Ten HSBI and Two DUO Tokens Giveaway Week 21!

It's Sunday again so it's time for my weekly giveaway! Every Sunday I give out 2 prizes of 5 HSBI each, one prize of 2 DUO tokens, and one legendary Splinterlands card or one HSBI unit for the winner to choose. Lately everyone has been going with the HSBI unit even though it's a great card I have up there.

Every week I pick out a new question to ask, it makes the giveaway more interesting for me anyway! I always get some great answers and also makes the giveaway a lot more fun. Here I am writing up today's post and I have yet to pick out a question for today. I guess I still have a few minutes to work on it. Let's look at some of the responses from last week!

Last week I posed the question "If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?". I got some great responses from several people The first one I'm going to feature technically doesn't qualify as part of our world, but it's closest neighbor. @borniet chose the light side of the moon because you get sun 24/7 and it never rains. Except maybe for meteor showers...

I would love to be able to go to the moon. I'm sure in 50 years it may be a tourist destination but I will be long gone by then! So I'll just have to enjoy the pictures from the Apollo missions.

Another destination that was picked by @khantaimur and @ekavieka was Bali. I've never been there myself but I understand it's a gorgeous place. Beautiful beaches and green mountains. What's not to love? Look at the beautiful shot I found of a beach in Bali!

urlaubstracker.at

I also had two picks for the Philippines by @coolmidwestguy and @lolodens . I have heard it's beautiful there as well. The Southern Pacific is an area I 've never visited except on some beaches in Chile if that counts! There are 7,640 different islands in the Philippines, so you could never realistically visit them all. Here's a great picture I found of the just some of the islands in the nation.

Now let's movie on to today's contest...

Today's question: What was your favorite game or toy growing up?

I would have to go with games, first the Atari followed by the original Nintendo system with Mario Brothers and Zelda! Those were so much fun to play, I couldn't even guess how many hours I spent playing. Back in the good old days! How about you?

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a fourth prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you an HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

Legendary Splinterlands card up for grabs this next week:

Djinn Oshannus, he's still up for grabs, no recent winners have chosen him so he's still here!

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week. The list so far is rather short:

@hiveborgminer
@kungfukid
@stekene
@elizabethbit

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is an easy one: What was your favorite toy or game growing up?

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. And the third prize will be two DUO tokens. Fourth prize is a legendary Splinterlands card or one HSBI unit! And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

Deadline

One week from today which will be Sunday August 11, 2024 at 12 PM California Pacific Time.

Now to choose last week's lucky winners!

And the first spin!

Congratulations @kungfukid you have won 5 HSBI!

And the second spin!

Congratulations @oadissin you have won 5 HSBI!

And the third spin!

Congratulations @borniet you have won 2 DUO tokens!

Last but not least, the fourth spin

Congratulations @silvertop you have one your choice of the Splinterlands Djinn Oshannus or the HSBI unit! Because I already know what you prefer I'll send off your HSBI unit!

That will just about wrap up the contest for this Sunday. Congratulations to the winners! I want to thank everyone for their support, without it I wouldn't be able to give out these prizes to help fellow Hive members. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great remainder of the weekend!

And since I am posting this in the #freecompliments community, I just want to remind everyone to take a few minutes to be kind today. Your kindness can make a big difference in someone's life!

Congratulations to all the lucky winners. Interesting question: My favorite game was hockey. I managed to play it for my college team as a captain and for the university team as well. So most of my evenings were spent playing hockey.

A couple of those spins came close to your name this week, maybe this next one. I never played hockey, mostly because where I grew up there weren't many skating rinks to even learn to ice skate. That's pretty cool that you got to play as team captain!

You'll have to keep an eye out for my LEGO posts. I buy and sell a lot of them as a hobby, sometimes other toys I pick up in thrift stores!

Thanks for the HSBI @thebighigg 🤗
My favorite toy growing up…………..
I guess that would have been my 26” Huffy bike. Wheels gave me the freedom to travel with my buddies at a young age!😊
Times were so different back then. We would ride miles from home, never worrying about safety like kids today!😇

Bikes were that freedom to travel long distance with your friends, I don't remember what kind I bike I had anymore though. You have a great memory!

I remember taking my own training wheels off, as a little kid with an adjustable wrench😇
Several crashes afterwards ….. I was on two wheels.🤗

Definitely Runescape!
Started at the age of 10 and stopped playing around the age of 18.
I started way before osrs and the new combat system was a thing. Wasted thousands of hours on it, but hey, I enjoyed it! :D

I've never played Runescape. It must have been fun to keep your interest for all of those years and cost your thousands of dollars as well!

I haven't put much money into it, if you don't consider time is money though, otherwise, well, than it's a different story 😅

As for me my most favorite game is "Touch the body"! It is a game played by 2 teams. The goal of the game is to eliminate the other team by throwing a ball and touching their body. It's kinda hard for it to explain the full mechanics but it is surely fun to play!

When I was a child, the toys I remember having were spinning tops and yo-yos, which were my favorite toys. Most of my games didn't really require toys, like hitting the can with slippers or blocking the runner. I remember that most of the time, I would gather fragments of wood blocks from my grandfather's workshop and use some of his carving tools to carve myself a toy gun or knife. Then I would play ninja or cowboy in our backyard.

The only time I got to hold expensive toys was when our youngest sibling was born, and my mother would buy Gameboys, Playstations, etc. When my sibling wasn't playing with them, I would play with them, but I was already a teenager by then.
