Three Tune Tuesday with some Heartbreak Hard Rock

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's always good when Monday has come and gone. Since it is Tuesday I'll be doing my usual Three Tune Tuesday which is an event started by @ablaze , I wanted to send thanks his way for continuing to support the weekly event. Today I felt like some hard rock music from the the 1980's, I heard the first song I chose last night in a movie and decided it would be fun to share. I even put together a theme, heart break songs from some hard rockers.

That got me thinking about this cool token which I've shared once before, but it's perfect for some hard rock on a Tuesday so I'm sharing it again. This silver striker token came from the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Las Vegas. They could be won in Silver Striker slot machines which I think are a thing of the past as I haven't seen them in years now. The Hard Rock Hotel is also a thing of the past closing permanently in 2020...

About the token

Isn't that pretty? Solid silver in the middle are surrounded by a brass ring, then they 24 Karat heavy gold electroplating over the silver. It's a nice token that I picked up years ago, it was also really hard to take a decent picture of it. The colors just didn't work well with my camera setup at the time. I keep meaning to try and find some more of these from the old hotel, but the gold plated one's are often expensive. A lot of the regular silver ones are running around $30 which is high in my opinion as they only have 0.65 Troy ounces of silver. But since it's part of Las Vegas history they get a premium price!

Anyway, let's get started with the music for the day now!

Bon Jovi

animalia-life.club

Formed in 1983 in New Jersey they released their first album the following year. However, their third album "Slippery When Wet" was the album that made them rock legends. It sold over 20 million copies and was followed by extensive tours worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame 2018 after a long and successful career that isn't over yet. They still like writing music and touring. Here's "You Give Love A Bad Name":

Pat Benatar

grunge.com

In 1979 Pat Benatar released her debut album "In The Heat Of The Night" that very quickly shot up the music charts to number three with her big hit "Heartbreaker". Since that time she has released eleven more albums with most of her success coming in the 1980's. She was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2022 immortalizing her long career. Here's her first big hit, "Heartbreaker""

Mötley Crüe

billboard.com

Mötley Crüe formed in Los Angles, California in 1981 and released their debut album the same year. Often well known as the bad boys of rock and extravagant style of living. These legendary rockers have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have often been in the center of controversy throughout their long career, and somehow none of them ended up dead despite struggles with addiction. Another interesting fact is that of the three bands today these are the only guys that continue to get snubbed by the Rock Hall of Fame. This song comes off of their album "Dr. Feelgood" and it's called "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)":

That will just about do it for today's #threetunetuesday . If you don't already participate feel free to join us in the fun. Each week one person is randomly chosen to win 12 HSBI. Just make sure you use the tag #TTT or #threetunetuesday and it's not a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze . Thanks for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate all of your support!

And a quick shoutout to @inthenow since I got some hard rock bands in here today!

Even if they were still minted, the Hard Rock Cafe token would be a keeper!👍
I guess selling this token would be “ A Heartbreaker “ to coin pat Benatar!😊

Very solid. I’ve seen Motley Crue a bunch. Saw Bon Jovi on New Years Eve with my girlfriend when I was 17. Cinderella opened up. Slippery when Wet tour.

Another cracking ttt post!
So Bon Jovi, I remember a little lady I know, who is half Scottish and half Singaporean was madly in love with Bon Jovi. She went to see him play at some big venue in Scotland and all she could say was how small he was. It tickled me hearing her say that!

Pat Benetar .... class!

Mötley Crüe I never really go into, but interestingly you said ...

This song comes off of their album "Dr. Feelgood"

Well the only Dr Feelgood I know of is the band Dr Feelgood who had one of my most favourite songs ... let me find it!

Now that is a great song! He's showing some style too smoking that cigarette throughout the song! The Dr. Feelgood old Mötley Crüe would have been singing about was heroin since the guy who wrote it was a hard core heroin addict!

Hehe a great song, might do a ttt on them too.
Oh yes Dr Feelgood most definitely is heroin in the Motley song.

The other two were great back in the day too. Pat Benatar has a great voice and hard rock style that you don't see in many female singers!

Oh I'm reminiscing the 80's hairbands now, haha. I listened to a lot of Motley Crue back in the day. So many good songs they put out 🎸 Oh the cassette tape days, hehe.

I wore out many a cassette tape back in the day... I then started buying everything on vinyl and making my own cassette tape off the vinyl! Crue was awesome back in the day. I hear their shows these days just aren't very good anymore, but they're a bunch old dudes still rocking out, you got to respect that!

For sure got to give them props for what they did. Oh yes all the hair bands are up there on the age charts. Some sound different while others seem to not lost the beat. Haha I remember making my own tapes via radio and vinyl. I can remember calling the radio stations requesting particular songs to complete those tapes. What a difference in what we did 30-40 years ago compared to today, right? Haha

Speaking of tunes and the Hard Rock! For my 25th birthday my sister took me to Vegas and to see the Sex Pistols live, original lineup. It was 2009 or so. Sex Pistol’s live at the Hard Rock! A pretty epic memory! !DOOK !LOL
