I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #551 - A Very Close Wake Up Call Yesterday - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Tuesday, January 30, 2024
I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Yesterday, as I was walking around taking photos for this post, I did something quite stupid (I knew better), that almost cost me my right eye. Given how silly what I did was, I'm not going to go into details about exactly how it happened, but suffice to say a branch hit me very hard on the side of my right eyebrow, coming very, very close to my eye. That I could still see out of my right eye was a good sign, but the large amount of blood let me know that the cut was deep.
As I marveled at my supidity, and expressed gratitude for still having my right eye, I walked to the Landing, with blood streaming down my side and my arm (I had my hand over the wound), to wash off some of the copious blood. I was somewhat at a loss for what to do, but I figured walking to Tutu's to perhaps clean my wound, and maybe put on some sort of bandage, was not a bad idea.
When I arrived at Tutu's, Aukuna, Liza, and Tiger where there, and Aukuna and Liza helped me clean the wound and got water for me to drink. They were very insistent that I sit down, which I eventually did, and Aukuna went to collect some Aloe and kukui nuts (for the sap, old Hawaiian remedy) to put on the wound. Aukuna finally put on a small butterfly bandage. At the time when all this was happening, Ano arrived with a new refrigerator (the old one died), which a few people rallied to help move into Tutu's. I offered to help (I still felt mostly fine), but I was rebuffed...🤣 I'm thankfully very durable, I have a strong immune system, and I heal quickly, so I'm not particularly concerned with my wound.
This accident was to me very much a wake up call, and a very close one at that. It was a message from deeper aspects of myself, trying to very overtly get my attention around some important issues that have been festering within me. How these things tend to happen is, when we have unconsciousness around something, we'll get messages in our physical experience, to get out attention around some important issue. If we don't listen to these initially subtle and gentle messages, they get stronger and more overt, until the point, if we're still not getting and understanding the message, we often, quite literally, get knocked upside our head, as was the case with me. Healing my heart, reconnecting with myself, reconnecting with others, and stepping back into life, are what I am being asked to do at this time.
I was supposed to train a few newbies, James, Liza, and Tiger, on how to collect cow food, but in the end only Liza was available, so she and I did it together, sharing some really lovely conversation as we worked. As we finished up, I introduced Liza to a few significant plants growing along the trails as we passed, taking the wheelbarrow full of Melochia leaves to Tutu's. Liza and I both expressed our enjoyment at working with each other, which was very nourishing for my heart and soul.
After work was done, I took a shower, doing my best not to get the bandage over my wound wet, strained out kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made myself a little food, then I headed back to the Flow House for my evening round of Hive tasks and catching up on my notifications, which took me somewhat longer than usual, finishing by just after 12:15AM. I did a quick round of token management, then I went to bed a little after 12:30AM. I did sleep well, thankfully, and my wound felt better in the morning. I did a round of token management, checked notifications on Bastyon and DeSo, then I got out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee.
It's just after 12:15PM now, so it's a great time to end this post, so that I can get onto my afternoon round of essential Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House in the later afternoon, to first take photos for tomorrow version of this post, and then land work, which will consist of showing Tiger how to collect cow food, and then a group weeding in the fenced garden. I deeply appreciate you all so very much! Until tomorrow! Forward, onward, and upward, joyfully together! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I hope you are well. That sounds scary. Sometimes things just happen, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Make sure you take care of that wound and be vigilant next time.
Stay safe!
