LEO Power Up Day March 2024

It's that day again... already !

Yes, LEO power up day. Where does the time go !

I've done my duty and powered up 150 LEO;

What is nice this month is that I didn't need to buy as many LEO as usual to get to the 150 threshold.

Gaining extra LEO is a combination of lots of different pieces of the jigsaw that are all working in harmony together. They include;

  • Slowly and steadily increasing my HP delegation to @leo.voter

  • Making more posts using the InLeo front end. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Leo front end develops to add some of the functionality that's available in PeakD but not yet here.

  • Doing more on Threads. This is alien to me as I was never a Twitter user, so it's quite a learning curve, but it's fun !

  • Getting some revenue from LeoAds - just a little bit so far, but now I know what I need to do, I'm sure next months' will be better.

  • I've maintained Leo Premium. This acts as a kind of boosting agent to all the points above, by increasing the rewards from delegation, attracting more upvotes to posts with the attendant LEO gains that come with that, and by increasing my visibility in Threads.

It's been interesting to watch Leo development over the month, and to see the price finally increasing. I'm not actually sure what price reflects the true value of the Leo ecosystem, but I have a feeling we've got some way to go.

Something I hope happens soon is to have a pause in the breakneck pace of development. It's incredibly exciting to see posts every two or three days on the latest changes and upgrades, but inevitably it comes at the price of there always being a few broken things - LeoDex, sometimes the Dashboard, usually Threads "Reply" button throwing up an error etc. In the scheme of things they are relatively minor irritants, but I feel that from a user experience point of view (and to avoid losing newly onboarded users) it would be good if they were fixed. That way the core of the platform could be seen as "something that just works".

If I sound critical of Leo sometimes, it's not because I'm down on it. Quite the reverse; it's one of the crypto projects I find most exciting. But I want it to succeed, and I believe an important part of that equation is to be fearless in giving constructive criticism. I'm not a technical person, but that helps because I can focus on the user experience rather than the underlying workings.

So well done everyone else who has powered up some LEO, and I look forward to seeing where this rocket ride takes us ! 😁

Finally, just to show that AI doesn't always get it right, here is my first attempt at what eventually became the image at the top of this post. I mean, it's kind of cute, but made the lion look really dappy (as well as thoroughly rainbow), and when I asked for gold coins, getting the main one to be a Bitcoin was totally inappropriate for a post about LEO, even though it's a strong indicator of what the AI values !

It's worthy of commendation that you were able to power up some Leo this month, you know it takes discipline to walk on the path of achieving one's goals ☺️
