It's Saturday again, and time for my weekly #SaturdaySavers update 😀

Here's my table of progress for the week;

How Did The Week Go ?

Hive Power

I have to be honest and say that I cheated a bit with my Hive Power this week. Because I was away last weekend, I didn't do the posting I normally do on a Saturday and Sunday, so actual HP earned was low at around 17 HP.

I powered up 20 HP for HPUD, but ended up slightly under my goal for the week, so I powered up an additional 12HP just to keep me on target. It avoids one red number on the spreadsheet !

The price of HIVE seems to have taken another hit this weekend. Part of me is sad that I don't have any spare fiat to stack more, but it's probably good that I'm not being tempted. Every time I've bought a dip for the last couple of months it's immediately been followed by another deeper dip before recovering to the previous level.

It would be nice to know where the bottom is, because Hive as an ecosystem is fabulous, it just feels like it's a secret that the outside world hasn't heard of or appreciated yet.

HBD

HBD is below target, because I haven't been DCA'ing in for the last few weeks. I've got trades set up in Hivedex, but they are set at prices slightly higher than the AVCO of the liquid HIVE price I paid.

I did get interest last week, of 33.974 HBD, which is the highest yet. It's getting to the point that the low price of HIVE means that a significant part of my earnings in Hive are now HBD interest. For example, July was a 2-interest month (1st & 31st), and in Sterling terms I made £22.43 in HP (132 HP) plus £60.34 in HBD.

If I can find some fiat, I'm starting to think I might buy some HIVE which I'll specifically ring fence purely as a trading fund to see if I can take advantage of smaller price movements.

LEO

LEO is a success story. I've actually hit my year's target, so now it's just a case of seeing how far I can go. The only sad thing is that real life is so hectic right now that I'm struggling to find any time to go onto Threads.

Other Metrics

The main metric I'm paying attention to is the number of posts. Setting myself the goal of averaging one a day now seems a bit optimistic considering the chaotic life I sometimes seem to lead, but I seem to be averaging about 6 posts a week.

Part of what I am doing is trying to make more posts in busier communities. It's maybe a bit cynical, but the way I think of it is that the higher earnings there are kind of subsidising the creative writing posts I do (which I tend to do more for myself) where the earnings tend to be lower.

Overall, despite the worrying downward trend of the price of HIVE, I still like Hive as a place to interact with nice, sane people and to make creative posts.

If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.

If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.

I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.

So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !

Thank you ! 2K is good - for me it was something of a milestone because once I got over that I started to really see curation rewards growing and compounding effects kicking in.
