entry smash 369

this week my contest entry is from a rusted steel grill. it was closing off a storage area under some exterior stairs and was not of particularly high quality to begin with and after years of exposure was badly in need of replacement. but being an avid shadow hunter, before discarding it i managed to put it to one last use...

in these last shots the full triangular grill is visible. there are a number of interesting details in them but one i particularly like is the fact that the tip of the grill still casts a shadow even though it itself is in the shadow of the overhang of the floor above.

i also like how the shadow of the steps is greatly distorted by the uneven surface of the sand

You always notice the most interesting details! Thanks for pointing them out. I would have missed the Shadow within the Shadow.

now that i am retired i have the time and interest to study my shadow shots a little before choosing which to post. i guess you have plenty of other demands on your time and see so many shadow posts in the contest that you cannot afford that luxury.
