Bye Bye hug.bot - Edited for restart

Well, that could have gone better.
After four days of service the hug.bot is shutting down again.
It was never my intention to cause any harm.
I did not want to snipe or steal any project.
I thought I had checked with people involved and was under the impression it is all ok.
Sadly that turned out not to be the case. So I'm shutting this thing down again.

But I cannot and will not use any of the accounts nor the token. If you ever decide to proceed with it, I am happy to hand it back to you.

Don't be discouraged. I can tell you're intelligent and have a heart to want to create a hug bot. We all need to know we are appreciated here.

As it turns out I flipped the off switch too soon. For now hug.bot will continue and is already giving me new things to work on for a more stable code.

I read the other post and all the comments, wow, it sounds like a messy situation.
I don't think it's your fault, and I'd like to see a Hug bot bopping around chain. As a learning experience it must have been interesting to work on.

I've read all the comments from both posts.
It seems to me that there is wide agreement that there is space on chain for both HUG and HUGS.
I suggest some creative brainstorming to find a good way to distinguish one from the other. Most likely either the same bot could be used to deliver both tokens, with different criteria for each, or a slightly different clone of the hug.bot could be used to distribute HUGS.

Would have be nice if HUGS team had reached out and communicated, maybe shared some more info with Hannes, then there would definitely have been scope for some collaboration, all seems to be a shitstorm in a teacup right now...
Hannes's project was for learning and development, seems hugs (from what I can make out) were trying to make a financial product out of their token. There is no reason both couldn't coincide, I've not spoken with Hannes this morning but seems snook sent over the HUGS stuff...so not sure where that leaves everything...\
Hopefully one of the Hug(s) tokens can move forward, was such a lovely gesture to leave a Hug on posts, especially on Hive where there are a lot of personal posts and some people really need a hug once in a while!

At the moment hug.bot will continue as is. I do not want it to be any competition to any other project or token. Always open to any form of coexistence.
