Another Coin from the Collection: 1962 Penny

(Edited)

It's still possible to find pennies from the 1960's in change, here in the US, but to find one in this condition is pretty rare.

I suppose I'm attracted to the shiny coins first in this collection. This penny grabs my attention and doesn't let me go.

The detail on this penny is so sharp, you could almost count the steps on the Lincoln Memorial. The statue of Lincoln can be clearly seen.

It was fun getting some closeups of this shiny and very clear 1962 penny. This has held up pretty good for 62 years! BTW, a penny this old in 1962 would have been from 1900. Amazing, right?

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

That is indeed a beauty!

When I was a kid in the 80s, you could still sometimes find Indian head pennies in change, so that would have been an even larger time difference.

Oh wow... Zooming in, makes me think LIBERTY has Double Lettering... Would you believe, I bought 5,000 Wheat Back Pennies years ago, and I still haven't opened the Box they came in... It was wrapped very nicely, and I didn't want to cut it open...lol...

Hmmm. To open or to keep sealed. If you already know what they look like, keep it sealed. If you want to SEARCH them for key dates and errors, open it and have fun! !BBH

I already know they'll be worth 5,000 of today's Fiat USD's... But some of them may have Collector Premiums... Time will tell, if I ever open them...

One of these days I'll go through a cloth sack with 4 to 5 lbs of US pennies I got passed from my Dad. Lot's of Wheaties too. I guess he decided to keep all the US Pennies over the decades for some reason, so I might as well add to it as I still come across some in my change.

Wow that'll be really fun. I have a collection of Canadian coinage I find in my change too, but nothing old or rare. I do have a few Canadian paper $1 I don't think they're worth more than $1.00 CAD

I love bright red pennies like that, especially at that age. So few were kept in mint condition and beautiful like that one!
