RE: Good evening Sloths! Tipping token research phase 1!

I can see why people are getting annoyed with the numerous different bots, some seem to have little to no usecase/value other than spamming a comment. Would be great to see some changes being made either by platforms or wider Hive.

I reckon the issue is that the "bot" itself is deciding if to leave a comment and how it does it. In this little test you can see that Pizza did a better job than wine, as it combined the two tips. So in my view the solution would also need working with the bots themselves to align. But I agree, that a solution at platform (ecency/peak) or at hive chain itself would be way better.

Yes, creating uniformity across bots will be a challenge in itself. It would be great if the devs could combine forces to make the bots function better together! I know our dev is already looking at soloutions. Pizza's work around is great! Hopefully more bots can use this code to 'tidy' things up. I do think it's going to be either one of the platforms, or a 3rd party app to show all tipping tokens/create a badge/icon instead of a comment.

I know the bots 'could' turn off comment replies, but then how would users know they were working...I think only CTP does this (hence I'm looking to test all, without spamming myself too much!)

No, fully agree. The tip token badge needs to be visible. That advert is important but needs to be done nicely. With just a little focus UI/UX and community push, all's possible. Have a little more !PIZZA? Does it allow a double tip? 😃

It would appear it does, and wraps it neatly in the same comment with a x2! Interesting! I think Posh does similar come to think of it...seems like the right next stage for the tipping bot commands.

!PIZZA lets see if we can confuse it! All in the name of research!

Am impressed. It still worked. That's pretty neat actually

It sure is, especially since it also tidies the message to avoid the double/triple pings per user, only the lastest tags are used! Nice!

Aha. Initially I thought that's a bug as it removed the @ tag, but your right, that removes the ping.

Actually , one last comment. I never got a ping from the Pizza bot. (Neither when giving nor when receiving) One more thing for your research.
