@denmarkguy...
Again, a large part of this is likely the result of our living in this always-on, instant publication world of 24/7 connectivity and social media. 10 seconds with Google and people jump into the middle of someone else's chaos and present themselves as offering "expert advice."
Preach!! I love technology... honest, I do! But I can agree with you 100% on this... We have gotten so accustomed to relying on a phone, tablet, or computer, for answers to our ever-growing database of questions... Long gone are the days of actually sitting down, and watching someone's lips move, as they give you their thoughts on something. Nowadays, we have no idea, that the person we are chatting with... by tapping on a screen, just spilled their hot coffee on their lap. Or that they were trying to answer the phone, while typing to another person on the keyboard... so they didn't quite reply as they should have... too much... too overwhelming... 24/7, 365 days a year.
But there are folks that are rip-roaring from the start; I can feel the energy from people, just by reading how they type. I think you know what I am saying. At least you are responding... at least you are trying to set an example. Of course... you gotta let things out, sometimes. Kind of like that nasty taco fart 😆 Stop laughing at me! Ha! But you know what I mean... some things are better out than in. If you haven't walked the mile in the shoes analogy here.
"I just think that if we continually stand by and allow a bunch of incorrect assumptions to slide by we don't really retain the right to complain about how things are falling apart... when we actually had the opportunity to do something to correct something!"
You should have been a teacher... or even a writer on a blockchain... oh, wait lol. Is that akin to the whole "Boy, that cried wolf" lesson? "...had the opportunity to do something to correct something!" Exactly! People still stare at me, with eyes all a glaze, every time I extend out my hand to shake theirs. I don't think you are wrong in trying to explain your feelings here... society has changed... whether by "products of the environment" or just a lack of common courtesy... As I said, at least you are expressing your opinion here... sharing a story, a moment in time. Engaging rather than Blaming. I am probably not making sense here lol; it has been a long day in my world. MS is really giving me a run for my money this weekend. But getting on here, and seeing all the content from everyone, sometimes just makes me forget about having an incurable disease... ya know? Hope you are having a good weekend, so far. Oh! Did that person even buy your postage stamps? Sure hope so... after all the hullabaloo...
Thanks for being you, brother...

! help
(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoI remember my Auntie — she partially raised me when my "absentee" parents were traveling — making the point that she did not like using a calculator to do her monthly bookkeeping. Not because she didn't think it was helpful, but because she didn't want her mind to "go limp" as she called it, from a lack of needing to actually figure things out.
I know it's a stereotype, but I do sometimes see groups of teenagers sitting silently in a fast food joint, and they are literally texting each other rather than talking.
It's admirable how well you manage to keep your equanimity intact, even while dealing with MS... the world really is — sometimes — a baffling shitshow.
Meh... farts are always better out, than in! There's more room out here...
And no, I didn't make the sale... I think this person was more invested in "correcting" than in actually buying the merchandise...
